About:
I was born and raised in Aspen, Colorado, and attended school in the Aspen School District from the ages of 5 to 18.
When I graduated from Aspen High School in 2004, I decided I was ready for a change and moved to New York City to attend college at New York University, majoring in Psychology. I loved what the city had to offer, and learned a lot both academically and culturally. I had a few internships in the city, one of which was at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in their department of Psychiatry conducting studies on PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). This gave me insight into the world of medicine, research, and the importance of understanding and treating mental health issues.
In the spring of my junior year, I studied abroad in Madrid, Spain, taking a break from my psychology major, and studying things like Spanish theater, art, and language. I traveled throughout much of Europe, an experience which I will never forget.
After graduating from NYU in 2007, I moved home to Aspen for about 8 months, working for Lee Beymer, L.Ac., at Radiant Health Center. He and his late wife Crystal inspired me to pursue a career in alternative medicine, which led me to move to Los Angeles in the fall of 2008 to study at Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine.
I earned my Master of Traditional Oriental Medicine degree from Emperor’s College in January 2013. This four-year program consisted of 3210 instructional hours, or 224 didactic units, and 970 hours of clinic training, including a clinical externship at the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Cancer Center under the supervision of Dr. Robert Chu, PhD, L.Ac., QME. I was also certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) in January 2013. This includes certification in Clean Needle Technique, Acupuncture, Biomedicine, Chinese Medical Theory, and Chinese Herbology.
My training includes adjunctive therapies such as Moxibustion, Cupping, Tui-Na, Acupressure, Auricular Acupuncture, Gua-Sha, Scalp Acupuncture, Electrostimulation, and dietary and lifestyle recommendations.
I am a licensed acupuncturist in the state of Colorado. None of my licenses or certificates has ever been suspended or revoked.
In May 2013, I moved back to Aspen to practice acupuncture and Chinese medicine in the Roaring Fork Valley. I opened my practice at Aspen Sports Medicine in July 2013, and was fortunate enough to work alongside BJ Williams, Stan Cheo, Dr. Eric Haynie, and a few other talented physical therapists, chiropractors, and massage therapists. This allowed me to meet many people in the valley and establish my practice here.
In January of 2021 I moved my practice to Basalt Colroado where we offer a tranquil, healing space situated along the Roaring Fork River.
